Students will explore the transformations of a function that occur when the slope and y-intercepts are adjusted.
This activity illustrates the relationship between algebraic and graphic representations of the linear function, y=mx +b, where m is the slope and b is the y-intercept of the line. Using the Slope Intercept VI, students will explore the transformations that occur when the slope and y-intercepts are adjusted. The VI graphs the line that is formed using the slope and y intercept, and also calculates the equation of the new line.
